If you've read my article on making your own compost, you'll remember that I mentioned that you should consider getting a kitchen compost collection bin. This allows you to collect several days of food scraps before you have to take them out to your actual compost bin. In this article, I've compiled a list of 5 kitchen compost collection bins that are both functional and attractive. These can either be store on your kitchen counter or you might like to keep them in a cupboard under the sink or on the floor in your storeroom.
These kitchen bins either feature a carbon filter or a tightly sealed lid in order to lock in odors. However, if you regularly add coffee grounds to your scrap bucket, you won't have too many offensive odors anyway. Plus, it's a good idea to empty your kitchen bin at least once a week.
